I read and I pray and I strive to be the best I can be in many aspects of my life. One that I'm writing about right now is about being a mommy.
What are my kids going to picture when they hear the word
mother? Will they think of a pleasant, encouraging, uplifting woman with a warm expression and a cheerful disposition, or a haggard lady shaking her head from side to side with a disappointed expression on her face, or maybe an angry woman, or one that didn't have enough time for them? The book I'm reading right now poses that question...How exactly is it that we model the 'warm and cheerful' mom?
"A cheerful look brings joy to the heart." Proverbs 15:30
A smile takes fewer muscles than to frown. The book explains that a simple smile offered on a daily basis can make a huge difference in our children and how they view their lives, their days, and their mother. When we smile, it lifts peoples spirits around us-wouldn't we want to do that for our children? When someone smiles at you, don't you feel uplifted and encouraged? Pass it on to those who are most dear to our hearts, our babies...
'A cheerful heart is good medicine.' Proverbs 17:22
