Today's sermon at church prompted me to share some of my learnings and some of my own personal feelings that have been on my heart to share with whomever may stumble upon my writings. This blog was intended for our family, memories, fun times, pictures, and so on, but often I find myself writing about my own wandering thoughts and feelings. Just as I hesitate to get started in fear of what others might think, he gives me that push and confidence to continue. I'm reminded that this is a part of who we are, who I am as the wife and mother of our home.
Who is your master? Really, when you think about it, who is your master? Who do you serve? What do you serve? What is your energy spent on? Where is your heart? If your heart wasn't guarded, what would it say? What motivates you? These questions make me reflect and think deeply about where I am and what I do? Really, when you get to the bottom of it where do you stand? I know this may be a little too deep for some, or weird, but there are times I just need to be bold for the Lord. I don't always speak about all of this, but if you get to the core, that's where things start to unfold.
We have a choice. He wants us to be free, to be a part of his family. What is holding you back? I guess all I can do is share what he's done to our marriage as husband and wife, and as mother and father. Our house stands firm because of the Lord. He is our rock and our foundation is set on him. We mess up, we stumble, but he's there and he picks us back up. We respect each other and know our roles, and I pray that our babies feel the love that only He can teach us.
Today as I was putting Savi down for her nap I told her that I saw people getting baptized at church today. She said, "In the waterrrr mommy?" I said, "Yes baby, in the water. I asked her if she knew what that meant and she smiled her sweet closed mouth smile, and she put her tiny, little, soft hand on her heart and said, "Yes mommy, Jesus is in their heart." Oh my did the tears start coming down. I tried to hold it in but had to tell her that I'm just crying because I'm happy she knows who Jesus is. Why in the world wouldn't we want to give it a try? The love trickles down. He wants to set you free. He wants to have a relationship with you and follow in his ways. He wants to be there to pick you up, to fix what's broken. He wants to be your father. He wants you to surrender to him.
If you are burdened, darkened, hurt, challenged, reach out, he's there to give you strength and to lift your burdens, to bring light to your life. He's there! Like I said, I know this is bolder than I usually am, but I need to release :) He is great, and has done amazing things in our lives. If anyone ever needs prayer, encouragement, or a listening ear, please don't ever hesitate.
'I can do everything through him who gives me strength.' Phillipians 4:13
